Free Write: Weekend

To end the Halloween weekend my roommates and I decided to have a movie marathon with our friends. We decided to watch the best movies to watch, the movies that were watch were Halloweentown 1 and 2, Halloween 1-3, Paranormal activity 3 and finally Child’s Play 2. We decided to watch these movies because my roommate owns almost every movie out there, except for the ones we want to watch in the spur of the moment. We also decided to invite some of our other friends to come join us.

When everybody arrived Thursday we decided to watch Paranormal Activity 2 because when everybody arrived we were already watching it so why not finish it. During the movie there was a scene, which made my roommates, not shut up the whole weekend? In the movie there is a demon that is disrupting the family, during the movie the daughter of the family is watching her sibling and out of no where there is a knock at the door and she goes to see what it was and she sees nothing. So like all horror movies she decides to go outside the door and take a look. Than the door just slams shut by the ghost and she was locked out. Her family comes back to find their daughter not home and the baby all alone. The parents were obviously frustrated, understandably, but they were tired so they left to discuss till the morning. This is where my roommates would not shut up; in the house there are a whole bunch of cameras to keep an eye on everything that happened in the house. The daughter went through the video footage and saw that the door slammed behind her and thought that this would show her parents it wasn’t her fault and she was locked out. So her dad saw it and he goes, “oh it was just the wind.” The door literally was made of mahogany, there was no way that the wind could blow the door closed. So my roommates when ever anything scary happened they would go, it was the wind. Scary noise, the wind, something moved the wind anything that happened was the wind. They were the most annoying people ever the whole weekend.

Overall the weekend was full of movies that were scary, but still somewhat stupid like Paranormal Activity. As a whole, our group loved it, but also got plenty of laughs out of it. In general I do love scary movies; however, I do feel like today’s scary movies are less scary and gorier than the older ones. I love Halloween, but I do feel that it is somewhat repetitive now.

Public Service

People may not realize that working within an insurance business is a demonstration of public service. Every single day I work with individuals that offer their money in order for us to provide them a service. In the long run we work with people within all grades of socio economic status. Sometimes we work with people that have millions of dollars and sometimes we have people that work with hundreds of dollars. Either way, we offer the public a service that very few people offer. Also, Allstate offers the best rates and the best service at a reasonable price. Whenever people come to us and ask us to serve them with our service, we give them the best response with the best possible price available to them.

Since I have worked at Allstate, I have given our services to the public. We have been able to serve people efficiently and effectively. Our services have always been able to give those that worked within our policy service. However, our services do not just limit within the state of Arizona. We work within all of the United States and we work outside toward other countries such as Canada. Despite all the natural disasters that may have occurred, we are always the first to arrive on subjects such as hurricanes and hail storms. There are plenty of other insurance businesses that serve our country. I feel like Allstate has served the best business there is to offer since what we have started at since 1931.

A good example of our superior service would be how we handled Hurricane Sandy. Hurricane Sandy is a hurricane that was at a superior level; however, we came in and served the individuals the service that they deserved first. We offered this service because we value customer service above all else. After our great customer service, other insurance companies modeled how they handled business above all else. Overall, our business offers customer service as well as great public service to every single clients we have.

Free Write: Arrow and Comics

I have not been able to watch Netflix in what feels like forever. However, this show came on Netflix that I always wanted to watch, but never had the time to watch it. The show is called Arrow. Arrow is the show that is based off of a comic book hero by the name of Green Hood. It is about a spoiled rich kid who discovered himself after being stranded on an island for five years. Once he was found on the island and came back to the city, he discovered how much he was a changed man. His parents were wealthy and betrayed the city in order to become wealthy. Now, the Hood (the spoiled rich kid) is trying to “right what his parents wronged” and decided to become a vigilante who makes the rich pay for their crimes. He resembles a modern day Robin Hood, but he has no problem with getting his hands dirty when he needs to. The TV show is pretty good and I would recommend it for people that have some free time and are into comics.

Ever since I have been young I have always been into comics and super heroes. My favorite movies are the ones that are based off of Marvel and DC comics (even though the comics and the movies usually don’t follow well). As a child, I would go to the UCLA book fair (now it is held at USC) and every year I would get myself one comic book. It was always a huge family event. I can still remember the first comic book my parents gave me. It was a Marvel vs. DC comic book and on the occasion I still go back and read it for memory sake. I had a great child hood with my parents and I am continuing to live a great life as an adult, I just wish that I would be able to have as much fun with my kids as I did with my parents.

Free Write: Fun, but Busy Day

Sunday, I did a bunch of random errands. I woke up early and could not go back to sleep for the life of me. So, after deciding I will not be able to go back to sleep I decided to start doing some errands. I started my day off at going to get my car which I left at my friends place, after getting my car I decided to get an oil changed. The oil change took a while, so while they were changing my oil I learned how to connect a TV to an inverter to a battery. This doesn’t seem like it would be important to most people, but to me it has been something that I have wanted to do for a while. For as long as I can remember, I loved tailgating for football games, however, I never knew how people were able to watch TV at tailgates. Turns out all you do is connect a battery to an inverter to the TV and you just need to connect an antenna or you use your Direct TV account if you have one and use the satellite.

Once the oil change was done I decided to go get my car washed. I try to wash the car every other week, just because I like to have a clean car even though my friends tell me I never need to get my car washed that many times, but I was just raised to wash my car at least every other week. After my car wash was done I went to go get some coffee at this new coffee shop my friend recommended me. The coffee was great and the service was even friendlier. Everyone was nice and the barista was pretty attractive as well. The barista being attractive probably made me like it way more if we are going to be honest.

Finally, I called my roommates to see if they were free because they wanted to go out shopping together. Yes, my roommates and I go grocery shopping together. Once we went grocery shopping, we went normal shopping and I got two pairs of shoes, two video games that I have been wanting to purchase for a while now (my roommates have brought out the inner child in me again), two jackets, and two new costumes from Spirit because they are having a half off sale on everything in the store. Once all that was done we finally went to go get dinner at Jersey Mikes and came home and did some homework. Overall, I had a busy day, but it was a ton of fun.
