Free Write: Purple Purse Campaign

Something I was unaware of is that October is the month for domestic violence awareness. The whole month people throw campaigns and events in order to make victims of domestic violence have a voice. The color theme for domestic violence awareness is purple, so if you see anyone wearing a purple ribbon or anything purple, chances are they are supporting domestic violence awareness month.

Yesterday, I went into work and started working on tasks that I was assigned for that day. As I was working on the task, I noticed a campaign entitled Purple Purse within my emails. Purple Purse is a campaign that is an Allstate Foundation Project. At Allstate, we participate in awareness programs such as, Purple Purse, in order to raise awareness regarding social issues around us. Whenever you register a code that is given to you on a purple purse, Allstate donates five dollars to YWCA. The campaign has a cap of $350,000. Allstate is doing the right thing by having the foundation work on increasing awareness among domestic violence. At the end of the day, we were able to have everyone at the office register their purple purse and raise more money for domestic violence awareness.
