The other
day at work one of my supervisors came up to me and asked me how to get more involved
at ASU and what they have to do in order to be more recognized. Allstate wants
to give ASU students the opportunity to have more people come and intern with
them. However, it is hard to spread the word about a new internship program.
So, when one of my supervisors asked me how and what Allstate can do to be more
involved I told them about special career fairs that ASU holds in order to get
companies internship programs more recognized. Also, I set an appointment with
people from the career service center in order to have career services share
with Allstate how we can be better noticed. After meeting with the career
service counselors, Allstate is going to try to be more active and involved in
different career fairs and get their internship program set up on the career
service page.
I hope
that Allstate can become a company that helps college students receive jobs once
graduated. I know that the supervisors are willing to help students receive
jobs once they go through the internship program and Allstate understands how
hard it is for a college student to get a job so quickly after graduation. In
the long run, my plan is to have Allstate exposed to ASU and allow them to create
a partnership with ASU in order to create a great program for students in the
future.
That is awesome! You must be doing a really great job of representing ASU if your supervisor turned to you for advice on how to be more engaged! You had excellent suggestions for them, too! I like that normally the internship helps out the student, but in this case you are helping Allstate as much as they are helping you.
